Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy explains how [Company legal name] ("we") collects, uses and shares consumer health data in the Nesta app. It adds to our Privacy Policy. We ask for your separate consent before we collect any health data, and you can withdraw it at any time.
1. The health data we collect
- Pregnancy and stage: whether you are trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum or training; due date, last period, conception or IVF transfer date; number of babies; previous births.
- Birth and recovery: birth date, type of birth and details you choose to share (for example stitches or a NICU stay).
- Symptoms and wellbeing: symptoms, mood, energy, mood check-in answers, and pelvic floor information such as bladder leaks.
- Trackers: kick counts, contractions, blood pressure, blood glucose, weight (optional), water, caffeine, vitamins, appointments.
- Food: meals, meal photos, diet and allergies.
- Health conditions you choose to tell us (for example gestational diabetes) and your goals and concerns.
- Nesta AI: questions and photos you send to Nesta AI, if you turn it on.
We do not collect precise location, and we do not collect data that identifies your attempts to get reproductive or sexual health services from any provider.
2. Where it comes from
Only from you, when you answer questions, log something or use Nesta AI. We do not buy health data or get it from other companies.
3. Why we use it
- To build and adjust your plan, sessions, reminders and safety guidance.
- To show your history and trends, and to create exports you ask for.
- To answer your Nesta AI questions, if you turn Nesta AI on.
- To keep the service safe and working.
We never sell consumer health data, never use it for advertising, and never share it with data brokers.
4. Who we share it with
- Hostinger (our servers) and [backup provider] (encrypted backups they cannot read), to store it.
- OpenAI, only if you turn on Nesta AI: the question or photo you send, plus your stage and week. See How Nesta AI works.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
Each provider may use it only to provide its service to us.
5. Your consent
Before Nesta asks any health question, the app shows "Before we start" and asks you to agree to this policy. You can choose Not now and still use the kick counter, contraction timer and warning signs without a plan. Nesta AI and anonymous usage data each have their own separate choice.
To withdraw consent: in the app, go to You → Manage consents. Withdrawing stops new collection for that purpose; to also erase what is stored, delete your account.
6. Your rights
- Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data (we do not sell it).
- Get a list of everyone we have shared it with (the providers above).
- Access and get a copy of it (You → Export my data).
- Withdraw consent, and have it deleted (You → Delete all my data, or on the web). We also tell our providers to delete it.
- Appeal if we refuse a request: reply to our decision with "Appeal". If we still refuse, you can contact your state Attorney General (in Washington: atg.wa.gov).
Send requests to [privacy email]. We answer within 45 days, and may need to confirm it is you.
